This is the day the lord has made...for reelz!
This is my friends wedding. The kind of friends you laugh with until you almost pee ( well to be honest pee a little) . Then after the fact you find out you were laughing about nothing but it all seemed so funny. I love these two in a way that can not be measured. We pray with them , sit at our table and have communion with them (The secret of a deep friendship). The best part is the love that i feel when i am with them. They know me and “see me”. As i write this they are leaving in less than a week to move to Africa on long term missions. I know this is what God is calling them too and my favorite part about them is how they lay down their life for Jesus. But……..today is just hard … i write as the tears are falling from deep within. Im using the computer to shield my face from this weak display from my husband whose making cookies and listening to Christmas cookies. I am not sure how i am going to be able to be without them. i keep telling myself to trust God in this plan but then i start crying. … ok so sorry for this emotional display… Let me tell you a few amazing things about this wedding( because there is a gazillion so im going to narrow this down to a few) for those of you who don’t know.
Kristin: She is beautiful. Always joyful. Laughs and Laughs. She loves everyone. Never says a bad word about anyone. She makes me feel like I’m her favorite person but since she’s been in a hundred weddings and has a million people who feel and talk the same way about her i think she has a tremendous amounts of favorite people. Im ok with that. Her heart is just that big. The moment i met her i knew wed be friends. She laughed at my fart jokes and i was instantly without any social anxieties around her. It was easy and it was as if God just made it happen. Together she took so much time praying for me and my family and cared about every single thing that was important to me. The Lord let me see that even when she’s not with me she spends so much time praying for me. I got to see her in a time when she was calling to God for her husband and then a few day later she was so satisfied by God. I knew even though the lord was filling her up i would cry out for her husband. I would beg for God to give her one. The truth is, i think she could have had so many husbands but she never noticed all the men looking at her ( thank goodness ). I love that within our friendship i don’t have to be fake. Sometimes i say things that may sound all sorts of wrong and she listens to my heart instead of my words and is always for me!!
Brock : Brock. He is like a wise old grandpa stuck in a young man body. At times I feel like he is my real little brother. He sometimes annoys me and puts his fingers in my ears and makes strong opinions and i annoy him but its just a way we love each other. I feel blessed to have this relationship with him He is real in his faith and you will see him on the streets praying for others . There is a billboard in Africa with his face on it with flames coming out of his head. Thats who he is. He’s fire for Jesus! He loves everyone and he desires that all will know Jesus and be saved. Everyday he is walking out his faith ! he is a good friend to my husband.
Henderson: Kristin never had to change her last name because she already had the same last name.
The dream: last march Andrew and I went to Africa with them. While there Brock had a dream that God was pouring oil on Both himself and Kristin. Showing him that they both have the same anointing. He told Andrew. Andrew said nothing to him ( poor Brock) but came then told me immediately what Brock had said. Our whole church and families knew they’d be together before them. We didn’t want to make the trip awkward however and say anything beforehand or during. Gods timing was perfect!
1/17: This is an amazing detail. When Kristin was crying out for her husband years before. She told God to tell her a detail. She heard 1/17… which was awesome because this was Brock’s birthday ( watch the video)
This wedding: I have been dreaming of this particular wedding forever and am so happy i got to bring it together for my friends. This wedding cost around $5,000 ( would have cost around $35,000-$40,000) but because i knew so many awesome people, and past clients who has awesome stuff. Afloral ( all the flowers are fake except the brides bouquet you wouldn’t even know) who gave me so many flowers for them in exchange for some photos. Thank you!!! Lights donated from Its Your Day, Matt Richards and his family ,our good friend roasted us a grand pig and did so much, we had some amazing women from our church cook all the side dishes. My parents put together a awesome drink station. My sister and I planned this wedding and worked so hard. Im so thankful for her and her husband and all they did. She took all the flowers that flowers from Afloral and made amazing breathtaking arrangements !We are now officially planning weddings together ( update soon) and most everything you see can be rented! Thanks to everyone who raked the woods and helped set the tables. Thank you to the St Thomas church / father skip for the tables and chairs! The decor.. All the tables were named after a story about Africa that relate to the Bride and Groom. Im hoping our African friends will get to see the stories about them.
